MAB 1300, first more taper 4 magnetic drilling machine to be released into the steel construction / shipbuilding market. The steel construction and shipbuilding markets have been demanding a more heavy magnetic drilling machine for years. The biggest yet available, a Morse taper 3 1800 watt model, was not able to meet the ever growing demand of portable large range magnetic drilling machines.
Several years it has taken to develop a machine that would not only drill large holes with the standard core drills but would also give constructors the possibility to use their stocked twist drills up to a diameter of 1-13/16" (46 millimeter). The 2300 Watt powered motor has been especially designed by the company Eibenstock (Germany) to fit a magnetic drill stand (produced by BDS Maschinen Germany) and to withstand the extreme load of large core drills and/or twist drills. The motor has been specifically set at low speeds needed. The oil filled gear box, which makes gears wear resistant, makes this machine part of the second generation drilling machines. These second generation machines are designed to last longer and are build to exchange parts and tools quickly. The extremely strong magnet will make this machine stick like a rock.
Fe Powertools core drills and magnetic drilling machines (The Netherlands) were the first to introduce this machine. The Dutch, well-known for their shipbuilding qualities, tested this machine severely, and found it to be suitable and a valuable adding to their existing machinery park. With its overall dimensions and weight of only 57 kilograms this machine still can be considered a portable power tool. MAB 1300 is available in 110V and 230V.
